Caterpillar is replacing the familiar red beltline stripe on its equipment. The new ‘Power Edge' uses a red slash to highlight model numbers and the Cat logo.

The red beltline was first introduced in 1991, but has proved difficult to apply to all 700 of Cat's products - from work tools to mining trucks - in a consistent manner.

The first products to feature the new livery will be Cat's M-Series graders, and will be common across all products by next April's Bauma exhibition in Munich.
