Mammoet acquires remainder of KR Wind

International lifting and transport company Mammoet has gained full control of wind turbine erection and maintenance specialist KR Wind.

In 2002 Mammoet and the Danish Enggaard Group started KR Wind as a 50:50 joint venture. On 10 January 2011 Mammoet Group became 100% owner of KR Wind for an undisclosed sum. Its core business is lifting, transport and installation work in the onshore wind turbine industry. Operations are run from facilities in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Romania and the USA. KR Wind has 360 employees.

KR Wind operates a fleet of around 30 wheeled mobile and crawler cranes between 300 and 750 tonnes capacity. Specialized cranes for wind turbine work in the fleet include the 600 tonne capacity Terex CC 2800-1 NT (narrow track) crawler crane.
