UpRight has appointed Mark Yarnold as UK key account sales manager, with responsibility primarily for developing business directly with UK-based rental companies and assisting other distribution channels to develop new business for our products.

Mr Yarnold takes over responsibility for UK sales from Ramesh Lal, who will be able to concentrate on managing and developing distributors and key accounts in the Nordic countries and Germany.

"After a tough recession, the UK is showing the first faint signs of a return to growth - and that presents some really exciting opportunities for us," said Mr Yarnold.

"We have an excellent core range and some market-leading products, including the AB38, AB46, TM12 and SpeedLevel series. I am particularly looking forward to highlighting their features and benefits to rental companies."

Mr Yarnold joins UpRight from the UK division of a generator and materials handling equipment manufacturer, where he was managing director responsible for direct sales into UK hire companies and the development of distribution and distributors. Mark has also worked as national accounts manager for a major construction plant and tool hire company and in a business development role with a specialist aerial lift rental and sales business.

Richard Tindale, sales and marketing director for UpRight, said, "Mark has a superb track record developing sales to rental companies in both the construction equipment and access platform sectors. We firmly believe that now is the right time to increase our profile among the major UK access rental companies so that we are well-positioned when demand returns. Mark's appointment underlines our commitment to this market."

"Ramesh is doing some really outstanding work for us in Germany and the Nordic countries. Mark's appointment allows Ramesh to fully concentrate on these territories going forward - and further strengthens our global sales team."

Access Platform Sales (APS) will continue to market UpRight products in the UK and Independent Parts & Service (IPS) will continue to provide spare parts and product support to UpRight's UK customers.
