MEC relocates to larger facility
16 December 2009
MEC Aerial Work Platforms has relocated to a larger facility in Kerman, CA. The new production facility is about 30 miles northwest from its former factor in Selma, CA. The company attributes its move to the 200,000-square-foot facility to its success with several new products, including the Speed Level 3084 and MEC 5492RT scissor lift series.
The company says the new manufacturing plant has separate space for R&D, welding and streamlined production lines. Outfitted with energy-efficient lighting, the building also has twice the number of shipping docks than the older facility and a railroad spur, employee break areas and a training center.
The company started the move in September and expects to be up-and-running by the end of December 2009. Calls to MEC for more information were not immediately returned, but check out the January/February 2010 issue of American Lift & Handlers for more on MEC's new facility.
