MEC to launch new RT scissor

07 December 2012

MEC Aerial Work Platforms is introducing a new 40-foot rough terrain scissor lift to the market, Access, Lift & Handlers has learned. The 4069RT will be available in electric and diesel power, with the electric 4069 introduced first at The Rental Show followed by the diesel variant in the second quarter of 2013.

The 4069 features four-wheel drive with fully proportional drive and lift controls and comes standard with the MEC Quad-Trax traction control system. The 4069 can achieve 40 percent gradeability. The total lift capacity of the machine is 800 pounds at full height, and the machine can be driven at full height, as well.

“Like the popular Crossover, this lift comes standard with a side mounted sheet material rack which will support up to 300 pounds of siding or sheet material,” says MEC’s Matthew Gauer. “A couple of neat features that look to be industry leading specs for this class are a platform entry height 55 inches and an inside turning radius of 79 inches.”

The width of the 4069 is 69 inches and the machine features 10 inches of ground clearance. Entire machine length is 126 inches. A roll-out extension offers users up to 48 inches of additional length and can support up to 250 pounds.

The electric version is powered by a 48v DC 375 amp hour battery pack. The diesel machine will be powered by the proven and reliable Kubota D1105 24.8HP Tier IV (interim) diesel engine.

Outriggers are available as an option and provide 10 degree side to side leveling.

The machine is said to be designed to “bridge the gap between slab and RT scissor lifts” and can work both indoor and outdoor. Travel speeds top out at 3.75 mph with the platform stowed.

The 4069’s total weight is 10,800 pounds.
