DP World Melbourne has purchased a Super Post Panamax crane from Liebherr Container Cranes.

The ship-to-shore (STS) container crane will serve the Port of Melbourne, Australia's largest container port. It has a waterside outreach of 50 metres, a span of 25.3 m and a landside backreach of 20 m. The 65 tonne capacity crane can reach a lift height of 38 m.

The purchase marks the return of Liebherr Container Cranes to Australia, after an absence of more than 35 years, and follows on from an earlier order from DP World to supply two STS cranes to its operations in Manila.
