Mikael Laine appointed at Cargotec

At Cargotec Mikael Laine has been appointed as senior vice president, strategy. He atkes up the position from 7 April 2014.

In addition to his role, Laine will be a member of the executive board. He will report to Mika Vehviläinen, Cargotec president and CEO.

Prior to his new role, Laine was president and CEO at industrial and wind gear manufacturer Moventas Group. Laine has also worked for Sonera Corporation, and has held senior executive positions at IT and telecom companies.

Mika Vehviläinen, said, “Mikael has a strong industrial background and a long experience in strategic development. He has wide and versatile financial expertise and his deep understanding from the IT and telecom industry brings us added insight as our industry is moving towards digitalisation. Due to these, among other things, we felt that Mikael is a perfect choice for the task.”

Mikael Laine, said, “My international working experience and versatile career offer possibilities to introduce new ideas to the development of Cargotec's operations. I look forward to start working in Cargotec.”
