Smart-Rig Cranes in the USA has launched a compact mini pick-and-carry crane designed to travel through a standard doorway and fit inside an elevator.

The mini crane unit is battery operated, utilizing a hydraulic jack with remote control and a two-piece telescopic boom that can lift up to 2,400 pounds (1 tonne), 20 feet (6 m) high.

The machine uses a counterweight water tank system which can be filled and drained easily, said Josh Clark, founder and CEO. "The Smart-Rig Crane is the only compact, eco-friendly, multi-purpose mobile rigging unit for versatile applications."

It is suited to a range of industries, including military, utilities, schools, steel, fabricators, sewage plants and oil refineries.

"The Smart-Rig Crane can work in hard to reach places or where forklifts cannot. Companies using small cranes increase productivity, save time, prevent injuries from twisting and bending, avoid the danger of using chainfalls or make-shift rigging devices, and save money from trying to rent or buy large rigging cranes," added Clark.
