More details on new Terex-PPM truck cranes

Further to our announcement in the Latest news section of theIC web site,www.craneworld.com about the April launch of a Terex-PPM truck crane for the European market,IC can reveal further details. Visitors to the Intermat exhibition in Paris this month will be able to see the first unit - a 55 tonne capacity model with telescopic boom mounted on a four axle carrier.

The new crane, which might be designated TC 55, will have a superstructure “very similar to that on the AC 55 all terrain”, an anonymous source explained. Also like the AC 55, the new truck crane will be built at the Terex-PPM plant in Monceau-les- Mines, France.

Designed for road travel at highway speeds, the new crane will have a two-seat carrier cab and axle loadings will be within the 12 tonne EU limit - most likely at less than 10 tonnes.

A logical extension to the concept would be a three axle 35 tonne capacity model using a version of the AC 35 all terrain upper - so do not be surprised to see what might be designated a TC 35 later in the year.
