Mtandt takes on XCMG fire trucks in India

Mtandt has become the sole distributor for China-based XCMG’s firefighting equipment in India.

The partnership gives India-based access specialist Mtandt the exclusive sales and service rights for the entire range of XCMG fire trucks.

"Mtandt Group is pioneer in the Indian safety industry. Today the most influential and greatest companies are using aerial work equipment and safety systems supplied by the group to reach and work at height safely," said Rakesh Modi, managing director, Mtandt Group.

Pradeep Agarwal, associate director, Mtandt added that the venture opened up a huge opportunity to tap into the firefighting market which has the potential to reach INR 3 billion in 2016-2017.

XCMG is planning to launch a range of firefighting vehicles, including truck mounted platforms into the Indian market during 2016. “Currently we have fire trucks starting from 22 m platform height to 100 m in our portfolio and this range covers the majority of working height requirement in India,” said HV Kulkarni, director, marketing at XCMG India.

“The Indian customers are familiar with both Mtandt and XCMG; the partnership with Mtandt is the crucial piece of our channel portfolio and this agreement will add a strong mix of both specialist and market penetration.”
