Nakheel awards US$ 653 million of residential contracts

Dubai developer Nakheel has awarded three contracts worth AED 2.4 billion US$ 653 million for construction of a 1,500+ villa mixed-use community at Nad al Sheba, UAE.

Package 1, worth AED 830 million (US$ 225 million) was awarded to contract awarded to Trojan General Contracting, and is for the main community infrastructure work and construction of 489 villas. United Engineering Construction (UNEC) won Package 2, which is valued at AED 789 million (US$ 215 million), and is for the construction of 482 villas, plus infrastructure work. Metac General Contracting Company won the AED 781 million (US$ 213 million) Package 3 contract for 468 villas and associated infrastructure.

Spanning 2.5 million ft2 (230,000 m2), with extensive landscaping and parks, Nakheel’s Nad Al Sheba community is to include 1,439 three to five bedroom homes for lease and a separate, resort-style complex of around 100 serviced villas with private pools.

Other facilities will include a club house, community swimming pool, sports courts and shopping centre with around 30 outlets. The scheme is due for completion in early 2018.
