New 730 kg breaker from Montabert

By Lindsay Gale04 March 2013

Montabert will use bauma to introduce a new 730 kg (1,606 lb) medium breaker that is intended for use with carriers from 8 to 18 tonnes. It offers what the company claims as an exceptional power to weight ratio – indeed, the company told D&Ri that it offers the same power level as its 1,000 kg (2,200lb) model. It features a new design, with fewer parts and without tierods, and is claimed to be very robust, with blank fire protection, steel cast housing shield, large tool with a diameter of 106 mm (4.2 in) and an optional Easylube greasing station fully protected by the housing.

Currently, Montabert breakers are available in North America under the Tramac trade name – 2014 will see this arrangement come to an end and the Montabert name will become the brand name on a global basis. The company also said although traditionally it focussed on developing its breaker range, the future will also see other products added to its breakers and crushing/screening bucket product offering,, although at this stage it declined to be specific.
