New AWP manufacturer GMG is launched

GMG (Global Machinery Group), a US-based company with locations in California and the Netherlands has entered the aerial work platform industry.

The new company's focus is on equipment used in the rental markets, including access, earthmoving and industrial equipment. 

GMG will unveil it’s new slab electric scissor line at the Vertikal Days Show in Silverstone, Northamptionshire, UK, May 24-25. The New models include: 10ft (3m) 1030-PA, 13ft (4m) 1330-ED, 19ft (6m) 1930-ED, 26ft (8m) 2632-ED, 33ft (10m) 3346-ED, 40ft (12m) 4046-ED and the 46ft (14m) 4646-ED. All self-propelled models come equipped with Direct Electric drive for whisper quiet operation and extended duty cycles.

GMG CEO Jim Tolle said, “GMG’s basic principal is simple, to provide our customers with better solutions for their equipment needs. Mr Tolle, who moved from MEC in January to the new role told AI there are around 15 sales agents globally selling direct to customers. He said the company will use different manufacturers around the world depending on what best suited each product type. He added that he is still representing MEC products in Europe, at least for the time being.

He continued, “The GMG team is made up of seasoned veterans, we know and understand the equipment business, we know what works and what doesn’t, we know what our customers go through in order to maintain a successful business. It isn’t easy for rental companies in today’s market to be competitive but still offer reliable equipment and yet remain profitable. It is quite simple, GMG products are high quality, innovative, long lasting machines at wholesale pricing, it doesn’t need to be anything else.”
