New AWPT training centres

19 March 2008

Six North American companies have become members of IPAF, the parent organisation of Aerial Work Platform Training (AWPT), and are set to join the growing network of approved training centres. The companies are: Admar Supply Company in Rochester, New York; Bil–Jax Inc. in Archbold, Ohio; Fraco Products in St. Mathias, Quebec, Canada; Midwest Aerials 'Equipment in St. Louis, Missouri; NES in Chicago, Illinois; and Northeast Work Platform Training in Boston, Massachusetts.

New member NES has been approved as an AWPT training centre for aerial work platforms and is planning to open multiple training centres in key metropolitan areas. New member Midwest Aerials 'Equipment has applied to open an aerial work platform training centre in St. Louis. Both Fraco Products and Northeast Work Platform Training are opening AWPT training centres for mast climbing work platforms.

The AWPT training programme is recognised by the US–based Scaffold Industry Association (SIA). The SIA recognises and promotes the PAL Card as proof of training in the use of aerial work platforms and mast climbing work platforms.
