Richard Schrader appointed as chairman of Parsons Brinckerhoff

Richard Schrader has succeeded Keith Hawksworth as chairman of Parsons Brinckerhoff, after Mr Hawksworth retired following 33 years at the company.

Mr Schrader, who has been with Parsons Brinckerhoff for 27 years, steps up from the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer. President and CEO, George Pierson said, "I look forward to having Rich as a partner in guiding Parsons Brinckerhoff going forward.

"I will continue to rely on Rich's extensive expertise in financial management and will look to him for assistance in determining the company's strategic direction."

Mr Schrader has sat on the Parsons Brinckerhoff Board since 1992 and prior to joining the company in 1983 he served in the US Corp of Engineers for 11 years with assignments on military construction projects, including command of an engineer company in Germany.

He has also served on the faculty of the US Military Academy at West Point as assistant professor in the department of social sciences. He has a bachelor's degree from West Point, a master's degree from the John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and an MBA from Long Island University.
