Ormig has released the 55/60iE pick and carry crane

Crane manufacturer Ormig, based in Italy, has brought a new indoor electric crane to the market: model 55/60iE. The crane is specially designed for handling work indoors and in areas with reduced space.

The crane was shown in prototype form at the Bauma, Munich, exhibition in April and is said by Ormig to be revolutionary for its size and weight. The maximum lifting capacity is 60 tonnes and it is powered by electric battery.

Short overall dimensions - 2.35 metres height, 2.35 m width and 24 tonnes weight without counterweights - mean that the crane can be transported on a truck without special transit permits, all over Europe, the company said.

The maximum lifting height is 13.5 m with 8.5 m outreach. It also has a small turning radius because of the 90 degree rotation of the rear wheels. The accuracy of the steering is obtained by kinematic mechanism that, the company said, is an Ormig patent.

It is possible to fit hydraulic and mechanical fly jibs of various dimensions and length. The 55/60iE is certified for road travel.
