New man at the top for Institute

Gary Bishop, managing director of Bromley Demolition, has becomes the new president of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE) after taking over from David Darsey who has completed his two-year tenure.

The incoming president, who will be marking 40 years with Bromley Demolition next year, said: “I would like to thank David Darsey for his hard work and commitment to the Institute throughout his term in office.

“I am extremely proud to follow him through the presidency of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors and now into the IDE.”

Richard Dolman, managing director of AR Demolition, was elected-vice president and Gary Bishop added: “It’s an exciting time for our demolition and I look forward to working with Richard and others in our organisation to promote the important work our industry does.”

Richard Dolman said: “I hope to use my position as vice president of the IDE to help address the skills shortage, inspire a new generation of demolition engineers, to promote ideals throughout our connected sectors and promote safer ways of working in our industry.”
