New management appointment at Hyundai

Hyundai Heavy Industries has appointed KY Kong as the chief operating officer of its Construction Equipment division.

He has worked at Hyundai for 30 years, holding positions including head of global forklift sales and head of production.

Mr Kong said: “Technology, quality, marketing and HR are the key drivers for sustainable growth in our business.

“I am very confident that by focusing on these four pillars we will deliver great value to our customers, grow our market-share, and achieve our goal of becoming a global top three construction equipment manufacturer and a top 10 material handling equipment manufacturer.”

He succeeds SG Rhee in the role, who has now retired.
