New personal access range from UpRight
24 November 2009
UpRight's new "personal access" range attracted a lot of interest at its distributor conference held in Dubai. The range includes push around scissor lifts; push around vertical mast lifts; self propelled mast lifts and self propelled scissors. [AI was able to report on the machines in September at a sneak preview at the company's UK headquarters .]
Richard Tindale, UpRight's sales and marketing director said that the personal access range will be given its own brand and although the machines will be available to existing distributors it may also be necessary to have industry specific distributors to sell into particular market niches.
Chief executive officer, Darren Kell said, "This range has a subtly different application set, a new raft of customers who are not powered access users. They may not be engaged with rental houses and distributors.
"It may be we will need two sets of dealers a generic dealer for all access products covering a country, maybe and then personal access specialists who are application or area driven which might be in every county."
PAX6, 8 and 10
Push around scissors with 3.73 m, 4.5 m and 5 m working heights. These are lightweight units under, 300kg which will fit through a standard interior doorway. The smallest machine has no outriggers the larger machines do but UpRight may change that. The machines are all steel construction with simple controls.
PAM 26
The push around mast lift machine has a 10 m working height and is designed with a "forklift style" aluminium mast. The outriggers swing out and are easy to deploy and you can get 200 lifts on a single charge of the battery.
SPM20
The 8 m working height self propelled mast lift is highly manoeuvrable with a dual axis joy-stick . It fits through a standard doorway and into a goods elevator. There is a slide out extension deck as an option. Gross weight on the AC version is 340 kg and 365 kg on the DC version.
SPX10
Drawing a lot of attention at the conference the SPX10 self propelled scissor is still a prototype machine. It is similar to the PAX models but it can be driven, is very lightweight, fits through a standard doorway and UpRight expects it to appeal in applications where floor loading is an issue. With the extensions the deck is 2 m wide.
