New truck crane series from Tadano

Japanese crane manufacturer Tadano is launching a new truck crane series comprising the GT-750EL, GT-600EL, and GT-300EL.
The new series is designed to meet demand for durable truck cranes with high lifting performance that are suitable for driving on both rough roads and then much faster on main roads or motorways, stated Tadano.
The GT-750EL has a maximum lifting capacity of 75 tonnes, a boom length of 47 metres, and a lifting height of 47.3 m. The GT-600EL has a maximum lifting capacity of 60 tonnes, a boom length of 43 m, and a lifting height of 43.4 m. And the GT-300EL has a maximum lifting capacity of 30 tonnes, a boom length of 34 m, and a lifting height of 34 m. They have a load radii of 40 m (GT-750EL), 34 m (GT-600EL), and 32 m (GT-300EL).
The rounded boom is constructed from high tensile steel. Extra reach is provided by a two-stage (9 m/14.3 m, 8.5 m/14 m) under slung jib which Tadano said makes installation in narrow spaces simple. It extends the lifting heights to 61.2 m (GT-750EL), 57.3 m (GT-600EL), and 48.0 m (GT-300EL), with load radii reaching 48.0 m, 44.0 m, and 40.0 m respectively.
The truck cranes have new carriers that are equipped with leaf suspension at the front and rubber mounted suspension at the rear. The rear suspension was developed in collaboration with heavy-duty suspension specialist Hendrickson. The transmission is automatic and there is also a cruise control function.
According to Tadano, on conventional cranes outriggers extended to their maximum length provide uniform, circular rated load capacity footprints over 360° of slewing angle. However, thanks to its newly developed safety device and control system, called Smart Chart, the crane can achieve a square-shaped rated load capacity footprint, with extended ‘corners’ over the rear outriggers. This, Tadano claimed, increases the load radius depending on the degree to which the outriggers are extended.
The new series has Tadano’s fuel monitoring system which has Eco-Mode to reduce fuel consumption when the crane is being operated and Positive Control which reduces fuel consumption when the crane is on standby. The cranes also have Tadano’s Hello-net telematics system that enables users to monitor crane activity, work history, machine position data, and maintenance information via computers and mobile devices. Tadano also uses this system to offer advanced customer support.
The GT-750EL and Gt-600EL will be available from October 2017 while the GT-300EL will be available from spring 2018. Initially they will be available as left-hand drive models, with right-hand drive versions available from spring 2018.
