Star Platforms is a new rental company in the UK.

A new rental company has entered the powered access market with the launch of Star Platforms.

The UK company is based south of Luton, serving Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, as well as north and west London.

Star Platforms managing director Steve Simmons has 20 years’ experience in the powered access industry. He was operations director with Panther Platform Rentals and, more recently, held a number of senior roles within Lavendon Group.

He said, “The time was right to launch Star Platforms. With economic confidence picking up, demand for powered access hire will continue to grow over the next few years.

“With an initial investment in more than 80 machines, our business offer is based on quality equipment and excellent customer service, delivered by staff who really understand the needs of powered access users.”

The initial fleet is made up of, predominantly, electric Skyjack scissor lifts, bi-energy booms from Niftylift and Skyjack rough terrain booms.
