One of the many manufacturers to have launched this year is Jiangsu New United Equipment.

It is part of a major group New United which produces a range of products, including aeroplanes, trains and wind turbines under its established divisions, New United Transit, New United Aerospace and New United Energy.

Last year the company turned its attention to the booming Chinese aerial work platform market, with the formation of the new division that also makes office equipment like shredders and laminators.

Its first platforms are a series of four electric slab scissors from 8m to 14m working height, being introduced during this year, and a 12m articulated electric boom. The company will broaden the range next year with push around mast lifts and telescopic booms are likely to follow those.

The company has not made any sales yet, and is using APEX Asia as a launch pad for its brand.

Speaking about the expansion of the market in China and the many manufacturers that have been launched to take advantage of it, the manufacturer said, “I know it is a big challenge as many companies now make these products. But there is great opportunity.”

This demonstrates a common view that the access market in Asia and in mature markets is ready for new manufacturers and the products that they can offer, even if it takes a few years to find success.

“We are here [at APEX Asia] to show that we have joined the market and now we want to analyse the market and its customers.”
