New Volvo for Cardiff Demolition

08 June 2016

United Kingdom-based Cardiff Demolition has chosen a new 38 t Volvo EC380E excavator for its plant fleet.

Managing director Phil Farnham selected the machine after considering several factors. These included Volvo’s reputation in demolition applications and the fact that the EC380E offers the latest in engine technology and fuel saving efficiencies through its Tier IV final engine.

The EC380E has benefitted from the addition of secondary demolition options which include SIPS (Side Impact Protection System) rails along the machine’s superstructure; boom and bucket cylinder heavy duty protection guards; “boxing ring” style hand rails and kick plates providing safe access to the engine compartment; heavy duty belly plates and an X3 proportional rotation line to operate rotating selector grabs and shears.

The X1 hammer and shear circuit –which comes as standard – has been modified to operate through a proportional valve as well. All the machine’s attachments will be picked up on a Tefra hydraulic quick hitch.

Cardiff Demolition provides a range of related demolition, dismantling, site reclamation and remediation services throughout the UK from its base in the Welsh capital.
