No environmental targets

18 March 2008

UK rental company Hewden said a survey of project site managers revealed that almost half had been given no clear environmental targets. Almost threequarters said they spent less than a fifth of their time on ‘green’ issues, despite a clear trend for their clients to make more environmental demands. Mark Moody, quality manager at Hewden, said: “There is definitely a lot more that the construction industry can do to reduce its overall environmental footprint. As a hirer, we are in a unique position to engage with site managers on a daily basis and help them reduce their impact on the environment.”
