UK based construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall has appointed Patrick De Smedt, the former chairman of Microsoft in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as a non-executive director. Mr De Smedt worked at Microsoft for 23 years before retiring in 2006.

Morgan Sindall executive chairman, John Morgan said, "We are delighted to welcome Mr De Smedt to the Morgan Sindall board. The Group and its shareholders have always been best served by a board with a broad range of skills and experience. Mr De Smedt's appointment further enhances this range."
