Orders up +25% at Larsen & Toubro

Indian contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T) continues to see growth across the board as order inflow increased +25% and revenues rose +14.4% for the financial year ended March 31, 2012.

The company recorded gross revenue of INR 61,471 crore (US$ 11 billion) for the year, with international revenue double that of 2012 results at INR 12,110 crore (US$ 2.18 billion).

L&T signed new orders worth INR 88,035 crore (US$ 15.8 billion). Large-scale orders came from Building & Factories, Power Transmission & Distribution, Transportation Infrastructure and Power sectors.

The contractor’s order book as at March 31, 2013 stood at INR 153,604 crore (US$ 27.6 billion).

L&T’s Engineering & Construction (E&C) segment achieved revenue of INR 54,378 crore (US$ 9.77 billion), up +16% on 2012 figures.

New orders secured by the segment totalled INR 79,766 crore (US$ 14.33 billion), up +25%, with international orders constituting 16% of the total order inflow.
