Palfinger has marked it's 80th anniversary with an extensive distributor and customer conference culminating in a celebratory dinner and entertainment.

At the dinner Hubert Palfinger was joined by his sons and the board to take part in a interview-style presentation. Mr Palfinger senior said that the secret of the company's success for the last 80 years was teamwork and good relationships based on respect. "We have battled through the challenges together," he said, "and have had the courage and confidence to achieve whatever we wanted."

"Over the years we have experienced many recessions where the company and our dealers were not sure how we would come through even so I have never seen anything so extreme as the peaks and troughs as the last few years. But we have worked through it together and I would like to thank the family, company, workforce and dealers from the bottom of my heart."

Herbert Ortner, CEO said, "The company is well positioned for growth - Europe is not currently an easy market so it is very important to invest outside Europe." Mr Ortner said that Palfinger was working towards a position where one third of its market was in North and South America, one third in the Asia Pacific region and one third in Europe.

"This is not just nice to have," he said, "we must have it."
