Austria-based Palfinger will launch the largest crane in its SH range at the IAA exhibition in Hanover, Germany this week.

The PK 110002 SH has a load moment rating of 98.5 tonne metres. Equipped with nine hydraulic extensions, the crane has a hydraulic outreach of 22 m, and up to 32.5 m with its fly-jib.

"Be it for moving heavy machinery in restricted spaces or precision installation assignments, versatile, state-of-the-art heavy duty cranes are in demand," said a company spokesman.

The base of the PK 110002 SH is integrated directly into the vehicle's subframe. Low overall height and very high stiffness increase both stability and the range of possible applications, added the company. "The hydraulic oil tank integrated into the base frame helps to save space and there is no longer any need for additional installation space in the vehicle," the spokesman continued. "The standard hydraulic stabilisers that can be pivoted upwards optimise the body design and make it easier to stabilise the vehicle where space is tight."

The manufacturer's High Performance Stability Control system (HPSC) monitors the vehicle's stability and enables variable positioning of the stabilisers to achieve maximum possible lifting power in each position. The continuous slewing system with two hydraulically prestressed slewing drives reduces the crane's slewing play.

The Soft Stop function is an electronic limit position damper. It provides gentle braking before the mechanical end stop is reached and is designed to prevent jerky movements and load collisions caused by swinging loads.
