Production has started at PB’s new factory in Germany.

The company said growing demand had required the capacity increase and the new plant, which has two bridge cranes installed and a 10m eaves height.

PB’s former production hall is still in use, now as a maintenance and repair centre, meaning that this side of the business is speeded up.

To complement the new facilities, PB has appointed Thomas Ziegler as plant manager, who also has responsibility for PB service. His main focus will be to optimise the production process, from the material procurement to final inspection. Speed of workflows and automation will be key areas.

Before joining PB, Thomas Ziegler worked for 23 years at the Albert Ziegler Company, a leading fire-fighting vehicle manufacturer. During this time he held a number of positions and gained a wealth of experience in planning, purchasing, logistics, project management, production planning and quality management.
