Pertamina takes delivery of its first Grove GMK6300L at its oil refinery in Cilacap, Central Java.

Indonesian state oil and gas company Pertamina has purchased a new Grove GMK6300L all terrain crane to assist with construction at its oil refinery in Cilacap, Central Java.

The GMK6300L is Pertamina’s first Grove. The 300 tonne capacity AT was purchased through PT Altrak 1978, Manitowoc dealer for Grove cranes in Indonesia.

Pertamina’s Cilacap refinery is undergoing a US$ 800 million expansion. As part of this work the GMK6300L is being used to place 2.5 tonne chimneys on newly constructed towers measuring 105 metres in height.

Work on the Cilacap refinery expansion is scheduled for completion in late 2014. The expansion will up capacity to 410,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), an increase from the current 350,000 bpd output.
