St. Petersburg port complex Petrolesport in Russia has ordered six additional rubber tyre gantry (RTG) cranes from Liebherr to join its existing fleet of four RTGs. The new order will be delivered by the end of 2012.

The RTGs have 16 wheels, stack one over five containers high and span six containers plus a truck lane. Capacity is 50 tonnes under telescopic spreader. Hoist speed is 28 to 60 m/min and trolley speed is 70 m/min, while the crane can travel at 70-130 m/min.

Petrolesport loads, unloads, stores, forwards, and handles a range of cargo types at St. Petersburg. The port complex combines several purpose-built terminals, including a container terminal, ferry terminal and a refrigerated terminal.
