Aggreko is to acquire its largest global competitor, GE Energy Rentals, for a price of up to US$ 212 million. The deal will reinforce Aggreko's position as the world's biggest power and temperature control rental company with combined revenues approaching € 800 million (US$ 1.01 billion).

GE Energy Rentals had total revenues of US$ 197 million in 2005 and operates from 35 locations globally. Aggreko said the deal would strengthen its position “notably” in Brazil and Chile, as well as in the rest of the world.
