Powertrain expert to share alternative fuels roadmap

Alex Woodrow, managing director, Knibb Gormezano Partners (KGP), will examine “The alternative fuels roadmap for off-highway equipment” during the Off-Highway Conference, which will take place in partnership with the sixth annual Power Progress Summit (formerly Diesel Progress Summit), on October 1-2, 2024, at the Voco Chicago Downtown Hotel in Chicago, Ill.

Alex Woodrow, managing director, Knibb Gormezano Partners

Woodrow joined KGP in 1994, shortly after completing his BEng and BCom in Manufacturing Engineering and Economics at Birmingham University; he added an MSc in Automotive Systems Engineering from Loughborough University in 2008. In January 2010, he became managing director. KGP has delivered hundreds of projects focused on powertrain and material technologies markets, technologies, legislative and industry trends in automotive and adjacent sectors.

In 2005, Woodrow launched the Global Commercial Vehicle Powertrain Forecast, and in 2009, the Global Non-Road Powertrain Forecast, a partnership with Off-Highway Research. These two services – which cover engines, emissions, electrification and drivelines globally – are provided off-the-shelf or as part of single client projects to global OEMs, Tier Ones and other stakeholders.

Woodrow’s presentation will be part of the Off-Highway Conference presented by Off-Highway Research, KHL Group’s industry leading data and research firm covering the global off-highway equipment markets. The conference will also deliver state of the industry reports, both regional and global, a used equipment outlook and cover opportunities and challenges in autonomy.

The Power Progress Summit will include presentations focused on the dramatic changes in engines and powertrains that are being driven by emissions regulations and advances in hybrid, electrification and other technologies. This year’s theme, “Developments in Digitalization & Decarbonization” also brings in conversations related to automation and autonomy, connectivity, artificial intelligence and more in relation to their role in accelerating strategies to deliver more efficient and lower/zero-carbon solutions.

In addition, the Summit will recognize excellence in product design, development and innovation with the annual Power Progress Summit Awards, which are now open for entry through July 1.
