Promoting rental

11 April 2008

Not convinced that rental companies can reduce your operating costs? Then call the European Rental Association (ERA). The ERA was created in 2006 to help promote the concept of equipment rental in Europe and to represent the interests of rental companies in Brussels.

The goal of promoting rental to contractors is a key aim of the organisation, and it is doing this in a number of ways. It is creating a number of materials that will help rental companies promote their services. One of these is a 'Reasons to Rent' sheet that summarises the benefits to contractors of renting. Another is a 'Rent or Buy?' calculator that will allow a contractor to calculate the cost implications of rental equipment rather than owning.

The organisation also provides contractors with a list of its rental members on its website (www.erarental.org).

ERA also exhibits at many of the bigger construction shows in Europe, as well as some smaller ones. For example, ERA is planning to exhibit at the forthcoming Maszbud exhibition in Kielce, Poland on 14-16 May, 2008.

The organisation will hold its annual convention on 4-5 June in Amsterdam, taking place during the new International Rental Exhibition (www.IREshow.com) on 3-5 June at Amsterdam's RAI exhibition centre.

The WRA has a secretariat in Brussels. Tel: +32 2 774 9401. E-mail: era@erarental.org
