PSS Hire has invested over £500000 in new models of No-Dig Centre pipe-bursting equipment, specifically models T47 and T85.

UK utilities and pipeline equipment rental company PSS Hire has invested £500000 (€700000) in new pipe bursting equipment from No-Dig Centre.

Following an extensive product innovation and development period spanning 12 months, PSS Hire said it had invested in the T47 and T85 pipe bursters, designed for use on existing water mains.

Soren Nielsen, CEO of Scandinavian No-Dig Centre, said, “In conjunction with PSS Hire, we have designed and produced two new models of pipe bursting equipment which raise the bar for standards in the UK.

"During the design phase, we specifically had the rental industry in mind and simplicity and durability were two key features which we have successfully achieved.”

The new T47 pipe bursters have already been delivered to PSS Hire and have gone out on hire for use on several contracts across the UK, including the five year Framework Agreement in place with Scottish Water.

The T47 Pipe-Burster has 47 tonnes of static pull- back power and is capable of replacing existing pipes from 90 mm up to 315 mm diameter.

Narrow and lightweight in design, it fits between even the closest parallel installations. The T85 model has 85 tonnes static pull back power and can be used to replace pipes up to 450 mm diameter.

PSS Hire is a division of A-Plant, which itself is owned by Ashtead Group.
