Qualcomm rolls out cost-effective fleet management solution

15 April 2012

Qualcomm Inc has launched its Mobile Computing Platform 50 (MCP50) fleet management solution.

Available for fleets of all sizes, the MCP50 helps transportation companies meet safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

According to Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services, more than 150 private and for-hire fleets have committed to adopting the MCP50.

Applications include: Qualcomm Hours of Service, CSA Safety Performance Service, Critical Event Reporting, CoPilot(r) Truck(tm) In-Cab Navigation provided by ALK Technologies, Performance Monitoring with Fuel Manager, Analytics Manager and Vehicle Inspection Report. Other Qualcomm applications planned for future releases of the MCP50 include Circle of Service Workflow, Trip Manager and Vehicle Maintenance.

The MCP50 can be integrated with third-party enterprise software systems and requires a one-hour in-cab installation process.

The MCP50 will be available via the Qualcomm Customer Portal on 30 April. The company is also offering monthly pricing plans to make the solution cost-effective to transportation and logistics companies.

In other developments, Qualcomm has added a Solution Finder and ROI Calculator to its public website transportation.qualcomm.com.
