Mtandt Group is mourning the loss of its founder and chairman Rajkumar Modi, 71, who died on Monday (17 April), in Chennai, India.

 “The Modi family and employees are saddened by the passing of Rajkumar Modi — the icon of the company. Through his drive and desire to lead change, Mr Modi, helped shape Mtandt in to becoming the top player in aerial work platform industry today,” said Pradeep Agarwal, associate director, of India-based Mtandt Group.

“He will be remembered for his love and dedication to Mtandt as a company, brand and family and will be greatly missed.”

Mr Modi founded Mtandt Group in 1974 and served for four decades as its Chairman. Under his leadership, the company has seen exponential growth from its beginnings as a small tools shop.

In a statement, the company said was always admired and respected for his management skills and his relationship with the employees of the company.

His eldest son Rakesh Modi, added, “He was a great father and always led us by example; his vision to provide happiness by inspiring enthusiasm, passion, fearlessness and optimism in the lives of people we touch every day will always guide us, not only in business, but also in being a good human being who values human relationship above all.”
