Finnish rental company Ramirent has expanded in its domestic market with the acquisition of Savonlinnan Rakennuskonevuokraamo.

Savonlinnan Rakennuskonevuokraamo operates in Eastern Finland renting machines in the Savonlinna and Joensuu areas.

It reported annual net sales of about €2 million and had ten employees that will move to Ramirent. Ramirent said the deal strengthened its local positioning among small and medium-sized customers.

Jarkko Miinin, member of the executive group of Savonlinnan Rakennuskonevuokraamo, said, “It was important for us to find a buyer who will provide a good workplace also in the future for our long-term employees.

“Ramirent continues to operate in the area of Savonlinna and Joensuu by offering the best service for our customers. With the acquisition, our CEO Jorma Kupiainen will be transferred to work at Ramirent to lead the sales in the Savonlinna and Joensuu areas.”

Under the deal, all of Savonlinnan Rakennuskonevuokraamo’s machines and equipment would be transferred to Ramirent. The transaction did not include properties.
