Ramirent's Danish subsidiary Ramirent A/S has agreed to buy Jydsk Materiel Udlejning (JMU), a small rental company located in West Jutland. The acquisition will add revenues of around €1.5 million and two depots to its Danish operation.

JMU, which was founded in 1940 as joiner/carpenter, rents aerial platforms, portable accommodation and light machinery to local tradesmen, mid-sized contractors, industries and private households.

It has outlets in Herning and Holstebro and employs eight people, including present owner, Peter Korsholm Jeppesen, who will remain with the company. The deal means that Ramirent now has 22 outlets in Denmark.

"We are happy to welcome a new member into the Ramirent Group with long traditions in the rental business", said Erik Høi, senior vice president, Ramirent Denmark.

"The acquisition strengthens our position in the fragmented Danish market and is part of Ramirent's strategy to offer present and new customers an even greater network and wider assortment".

Ramirent, headquartered in Finland, said it is the largest construction rental company in Denmark with annual sales of €43 million in 2009.
