Ramirent signs rental agreement with Consto

By Murray Pollok08 June 2012

Ramirent's Norwegian business has signed a three year national rental agreement with building company Consto AS. Ramirent will take over the management of Consto's equipment and machines.

Consto was founded in Tromsø in 2006 and operates in Oslo, Tromsø, Kirkenes, Narvik, Bodø and Ålesund.

Jarl Johansen at Consto said the company's strategy was to rent equipment rather than own; "But as a consequence of an earlier purchase the company owns equipment and machinery in Bodø... We have a good experience of working together with Ramirent and see it as a natural next step to sign this cooperation agreement".

Bjørn Larsen, managing director of Ramirent AS in Norway, said taking over customers' equipment and machine fleets was part of Ramirent's growth strategy; "By outsourcing their machines to Ramirent customers can release tied-up capital and increase efficiency".

The agreement, which is subject to a possible three year extension, became effective on 1 June.

Meanwhile, Ramirent in Finland said it had started to deliver equipment to the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki as part of its rental contract for the Helsinki 2012 European Athletics Championships.

Ramirent Finland Oy is supplying construction machines, 2 km of fencing, access platforms, transportation equipment, up to 45 site huts and scaffolding work.
