The first meeting of the European Union funded RE4 Project has taken place in Brindisi, Italy.

Over the next three and a half years the project will develop new technologies to increase the reuse and recycling of construction and demolition waste material in energy efficient prefabricated elements for building refurbishment and construction.

Among those present was Sean Kerr, head of engineering at United Kingdom based CDE Global.

He said: “To be involved in the first Horizon 2020 funded research project in this area is an exciting prospect and a great opportunity to make significant advancements in reducing the environmental impact of construction and demolition activities.”
