Learning the ropes

Industry Skills Training (IST), based at the Victoria University Werribee campus, in Australia, has taken delivery of a set of specially-engineered tilt panels for the training of riggers. Not only do the panels replicate industry conditions but they also put IST in the position of being able to match the latest competency requirements, it says.

"Tilt-up panels are an efficient method for building warehouses, office buildings, commercial and industrial structures, shopping centres and multi-storey apartments. The cost benefits and time savings are recognised by engineers, architects and developers," says IST.

To erect such panels in the state of Victoria a Licence to Perform High Risk Work - Intermediate Rigging, is required.
