This book, funded by the UK's Department of Trade and Industry, the Health & Safety Executive, HTC Plant and CIRIA members, Tower Crane Stability, is intended to help ensure the safe design and use of tower cranes.

The main causes of tower crane failure and critICal hazards are explained, together with the features of the most common tower cranes that should be taken into account during planning for use and actual use. It includes guidance on key temporary work elements, foundations, structural ties and the ways that tower cranes apply loads to these.

The book is aimed at works designers and building designers to provide them with best practICe information and also as a guideline for tower crane managers and operators.
