Dave Roberts has been promoted to managing director of Kubota UK. He was previously the company’s general manager for sales and marketing.

Mr Roberts is the first UK national to take the top job at the business and will have responsibility for all three divisions: Construction, Engines and Tractor & Groundcare.

He has spent 22 years with Kubota and also recently worked as operations director at agricultural equipment dealer Farol Ltd.

“To be the first UK national to be made MD is a great privilege and illustrates Kubota’s commitment to the continued development of key markets around the globe”, said Mr Roberts.

He said the company’s main goals were to “maintain and build on our excellent market position in key sectors such as compact tractors, mini excavators, and sub 100 kW diesel engines by continually developing our product and aftersales offering to ensure we keep one step ahead of the competition.”

In particular he highlighted growth opportunities in the agricultural tractor market.
