Rod Abbott has announced that at the end of 2013 he will be retiring from NRC in the UK.

Abbott has worked for NRC for more than 50 years, starting out as a crane engineering apprentice before working his way up to managing director of the company.

Following his retirement, NRC has appointed Steve Harvey as managing director. Dave Rees will head sales and will deal with site visits for rental where required.

Speaking on his decision, Abbott said, “Retirement wasn’t an easy decision but I feel it is the right time for me. I will certainly miss all my clients, friends and acquaintances who, in some cases, I have known my whole working life.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their custom and friendship over the years.”
