Romanian Move

19 March 2008

In the last year PM Group has shifted part of its small crane assembly process to the Romanian plant.

A spokesman for the group's articulated truck mounted cranes division says the move would allow the company to maximise the production of higher capacity loading cranes in Italy.

The group has six production sites in Italy, as well as the site in Romania which was opened in 2004 to carry out welding and boring, along with part of the painting process.

PM has a 45 series range of knuckle boom cranes, incorporating 350 models.

Some 70% of them are exported to more than 100 countries around the world together with the group's other products - access platforms, scaffolding and formworks.

The crane division's provisional turnover for 2006 is €80 million (US$109 million), while provisional growth for the 2006 to 2007 period stands at 20%.
