Ruthmann's new High Performance Steiger T460

02 March 2012

The 46m working height Steiger T460 will be the first in Ruthmann's new range of truck mounted Height Performance machines launched at Intermat.

The new range builds on the success of the Steiger TB270, 27m machine on a 3.5t chassis and the Steiger T330, 33m machine on a 7.5t GVW chassis. Machines the company describes as having an excellent price/performance ratio but more affordable than some of the very high technology machines in its range.

The T460 uses the company's multibend boom construction technology and will not replace the existing 47m working height Steiger T470 which features a round boom profile.

The T460 will be mounted on an 18t GVW, 2-axle chassis or customers have the option of an all-wheel drive off-road chassis. Chassis can be chosen from a number of manufacturers including Volvo, Scania and Mercedes.

Ruthmann is only gradually releasing detail of the new model but Access International knows that it has a telescopic boom with a "longer than ever," jib to provide good up-and-over access.

At Intermat Ruthmann will also provide details of two more models in the 50m+ and 70m+ range. These will be launched at Bauma in Munich in 2013. Ruthmann is keen to release information early to allow potential customers to consider the new machines when planning fleet expansion or replacement.
