French tower crane safety device manufacturer AGS has set up AGS BTP Iberica division.

The company has had a presence in Spain for a number of years through a distributor. This new subsidiary, based in Irun, will be managed by Eugenio Retuerto, former manager of Teknikran.

REYM 2000 continues to be AGS's distributor in Spain for the Mediterranean area.

In recent months the manufacturer installed its anti-collision system on a number of projects in Spain: 18 Jaso cranes at the Archidona prison site, five Jasos working on the Banque Populaire headquarters in Madrid, five Jaso units working on residential construction in Murcia, four Saez cranes at the Reus Shopping Centre development and on four Potain and three Comansa units elsewhere.
