Safety specialist launches CDM survey

25 May 2016

Construction Design and Management (CDM) safety specialist, HFL:CDM, part of the Haden Freeman Engineering Group, is assessing exactly how well people in the construction sector understand the new CDM regulations which came into force in 2015.

The company, established in response to the regulations changes last year, is conducting the pioneering study to gain valuable insights into how well employees in the industry understand their obligations when it comes to CDM.

The regulations place accountability for health, safety and welfare on the individual responsible for undertaking a construction or engineering projects.

The study has been designed to gauge what businesses know about the regulations, responsibilities and the possible implications of not appointing a principal designer to undertake CDM duties and oversee project health and safety.

Ian Dunkley, project director at Haden Freeman Group said, “HFL:CDM is focused on ensuring that the individuals working in the engineering and construction industries are clearly aware of the new CDM regulations and the implications these can have for their projects.

“We think very few people are actually aware of how serious the implications of not following these regulations really are.”
