Sandvik Construction has announced it will not be exhibiting at the 2016 Bauma event in Munich.

In a press release, the Sweden-based company said its decision was due to a “continuing strategy of focusing on the real needs and requirements of our customers”.

The firm plans instead to take part in locally-oriented activities, in an effort to get closer to the needs of its clients.

As well as attending smaller events, such as Hillhead in the UK – during which the the company will display and promote its aftermarket solutions – Sandvik plans to run a number of its own one- and three-day customer-focused events.

In the statement, Dinggui Gao, president of Sandvik Construction, also outlined the company’s plans to attend a number of European product launch events next year, with a view to sharing its latest innovations and further developing customer relations.
